About
Emma Lippert (b. 2002) is a composer, horn player, and educator based in Wichita, Kansas. Her work is grounded in the belief that introspection is rooted in creativity. While music is often thought of as a form of escapism, within that escapism also resides a safe and creative space for self-expression and introspection. Lippert’s music is often described by colleagues as intuitive, colorful, and quasi-minimalist. By incorporating themes of personal growth into music which features an abundance of gradual transformation, she attempts to create works that both engage the ear and provoke self-reflection.
Lippert’s works have been commissioned and performed locally in Wichita, Kansas as well as in Greensboro, North Carolina. Her recent collaborations include a new work for horn and fixed media for French horn player Grace Schulze, and a premiere of her work for piccolo trumpet and piano written for Hannah Markun at the 2025 International Women’s Brass Conference in Hartford, Connecticut.
Lippert holds dual Bachelors’ Degrees in Music Composition and French horn Performance from Wichita State University and is looking to further her education with a Master’s of Music in the near future.
